Call for Workshop Proposals

INSPIRATION is what we do. CELEBRATION is how we do it.

Application Deadline: December 1, 2021

The Northlands Storytelling Conference is seeking quality 90-minutes Workshops for storytellers and those who use storytelling in their line of work, such as educators, librarians, healing, community, etc. FIX THIS Members have noted that they are looking for sessions on Performance: emcee skills, physicality, mic use, etc.; Business: contracts, negotiation skills, bookkeeping, etc.; Permissions: copyright issues, author queries, editing/adapting copy, etc.; Environmental issues and nature stories; Education: applied storytelling especially for librarians and teachers, common core & STEM tie-ins, etc.; Technology: podcasting, website creation, e-blast methods, etc.; Writing: story construction, publishing, etc.; critique and/or coaching sessions; panel presentations; showcases of performance/dialogue. These are just a few ideas!
CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS
There will be four Workshops over the course of the Conference. Workshops are offered in 90-minute sessions, with a range of storytelling and story-related topics for beginners to advanced storytellers and/or non-storyteller participants..
  • Presenter will receive a $200 honorarium for a 90-minute workshop
  • Compensation is limited to this amount, regardless of the number of presenters of the workshop
  • You do not need to be a member of Northlands to be a presenter
  • If chosen, you are required to register for the conference, at minimum, for the day of presentation
