Inspire! Growing Our Skills Together
Online WORKSHOPS and CONCERTSATURDAY, August 14 - Featuring KIM WEITKAMP
10:00 am - Noon CDT
"Designing Stories with Purpose"
Cost: $55 for Workshop 1 & Concert; $65 for both Workshops & Concert.
Workshop is limited to 15 active participants; recording is available.
Entertaining your audience is important, usually they have paid a ticket fee and they expect to be entertained, but entertaining without purpose or intention can leave you feeling lost in your writing/telling and your audience will walk away still feeling hungry. How do you create stories that make an impact? How can you blend humor and purpose so that your pieces have textured layers and a thoughtful journey? How can you elicit laughter or be entertaining while being a changemaker? In this workshop, Kim will take us through the steps of focused writing, intentional storytelling and how to bring it all together on stage.
Recordings available to ticketholders for 7 days after the event.
Kim is known for her entertaining and educational workshops that she presents all around the country. She has produced over 25 award winning albums for storytellers around the country and has written, produced and recorded 7 award winning albums of her own.
She is the owner of www.profitablestory.com doing corporate story coaching with clients such as Feeding America, Purina, Edward Jones, Duke Energy and others.

"The Dark Side of Storytelling"
Cost: $25 for Workshop 2 & Concert or Free with purchase of Workshop 1.
"If someone told me that I had to pick one genre of stories to write/tell for the rest of my life, it would be the darker, spooky, twisted stories." Kim says that it makes her sad that she only gets to perform these pieces around October. In this workshop, Kim will give tips on creating, twisting, and telling the stories that make you jump! Learn about stage presence, making a spooky story your own or creating your own original story. Kim has two award winning CD's, Head Bone Rattles and Dead Bird Singing that have received airplay and accolades. One review stated about Kim's spooky stories, "It was like having dinner with Dr. Seuss, Tim Burton and Alfred Hitchcock. I loved it, but I know I'll be looking under the bed when I go home."
